This photograph is just fantastic. It has almost every single thing that, in my opinion, separates a fine photograph from an incredible one.
The first thing has to do with the photographer. A good photographer can take an otherwise pretty regular piece of scenery and make it into a creative and very interesting art piece. This clearly happens in this photograph: we've got sky, ground, three trees and some steps. Only a very good photographer to make it such an eye-catching thing!
The second thing has to do with taking the picture. A good photographer can find the perfect positioning to get everything perfect, even if, of course some editing might be needed, but we'll get to that in a bit. This photo also shows that very well: if we see the first version, "Fourteen", we can see how much this version is better (even if the other one was quite impressive too).
The third and last thing is, as I said, the editing. Sure there were times when a good photographer is one that can grab a film camera, aim, shoot, and have a masterpiece, but times have changed. Editing itself is an art, and that is surely proved with certain pictures. This is an example. The editing is very subtle, and I say that because, even if this picture is very different from the one that showed up in the photographer's camera when he took it, I could never had said it. It looks like an unreal world, like a calm, perfect place for existing, and yet, it looks as familiar as my own home.
Overall, this is one of the best photographs I've seen all week. Congratulations for your work!
